Retta Rico, of Dutton Law Group’s Fort Lauderdale office, focuses primarily on litigating personal injury protection cases arising from automobile accidents and homeowner’s insurance claims. Retta began her legal career at the early age of 15 at a prominent personal injury firm based in Wheeling, West Virginia, where she assisted attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation. By the time she had completed her undergraduate degree, she had been promoted to lead paralegal in a major toxic tort case involving over 200 plaintiffs.

Ms. Rico earned her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, where she graduated magna cum laude, booked several classes, was an Editor for the International Law Students’ Association’s Journal of International and Comparative Law and Nova Southeastern University cheerleader. Ms. Rico also successfully completed two internship during law school, one of which was a Judicial Internship under the Honorable Judge Carlos S. Rebollo of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court. Prior to joining Dutton Law Group, Ms. Rico worked as an associate at three insurance defense firms in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area.

Ms. Rico is a loving mother of two beautiful children and enjoys spending time with them. Ms. Rico is also a certified Yoga instructor and enjoys spending time in the Bahamas, where she lived for several years. In her down time, she enjoys playing recreational softball.
