Shekka Drayton is a native of Miami, Florida. Ms. Drayton attended The Florida State University where she tripled majored in Political Science, International Affairs, and Psychology. Ms. Drayton received her Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Ms. Drayton was President of the Student Bar Association as well as an inaugural member of the Penn State Law Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team.
Ms. Drayton was admitted to practice law in 2017. She served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 1st Judicial Circuit. After transitioning into civil practice, Ms. Drayton practiced defense oriented personal injury protection (PIP) for four years. Ms. Drayton joined DLG in 2022. She continues to focus on the practice of PIP defense.
Ms. Drayton has called Pensacola home since 2017. She is active in several community-based initiatives. Ms. Drayton serves as President of The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Escambia Santa Rosa Bar Association (ESRBA). She is a member of the C. Roger Vinson American Inn of Court. In 2019, Ms. Drayton became a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NW Florida. She also serves as editor and contributor of The Summation, the official publication of ESRBA. Although she keeps a busy schedule, Ms. Drayton is never too busy for her Chow Chow puppy, Mochi, and her favorite pastime, brunch.
