Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney, Scott W. Dutton was pleased to again serve as a presenter at the annual FIFEC (Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee) program which was held June 7-9, 2017 at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando. Mr. Dutton’s continuing education presentation was entitled: “The Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault (PIP) Law— Current Trends, Issues, Case Law and Legislative Update 2017.”
This year’s intermediate level course addressed PIP related issues that examined the complexities and nuances of the Florida No-Fault Law and how its current version affects the claims process. Included in the discussion was a detailed consideration regarding fee schedule issues, the appropriate response to demand letters, what constitutes an emergency medical condition and the impact that a claimant’s failure to cooperate by not submitting to examinations under oath may have on the claim. Attendees found this presentation to be informative and practical
The firm would like to thank the FIFEC Speaker Selection Committee for providing Mr. Dutton the opportunity to once again serve on the faculty of distinguished presenters at this year’s event.
