Dutton Law Group Is Proud to Sponsor The Italian Club in Historic Ybor City and this weekend’s Ybor City Cultural Weekend.

Dutton Law Group is proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming Ybor City Cultural Weekend, with festivities scheduled on October 7-9, 2022. This is one of several ways the law firm demonstrates its continuing support for Ybor City, Tampa, and the area’s rich cultural history.

Headquartered in Tampa, Dutton Law Group is proud to join The Italian Club in celebrating the historic role of Ybor City, which is located northeast of downtown Tampa. Ybor City was founded in the 1880s by Vicente Martinez-Ybor and other cigar manufacturers. The city was populated by thousands of immigrants, mainly from Cuba, Spain, and Italy. For the next 50 years, workers in Ybor City’s cigar factories produced hundreds of millions of cigars annually. Ybor City is the only neighborhood on Florida’s west coast to be designated a National Historic Landmark District.

About The Italian Club of Tampa

Over a century ago, L’Unione Italiana was founded by a small visionary group who realized that by uniting together, the Italian community of Tampa could overcome many of the social and economic challenges that confronted those “turn-of-the-century” immigrants from Italy. From those visions came the beautiful building now known as the Italian club, which hosts weddings, corporate functions, non-profit galas, birthdays and celebrations throughout the year all within the historic district of Tampa Bay. The Italian Club of Tampa building, completed in 1918, was designed by award-winning Tampa architects Leo Elliott and B. C. Bonfoey who had also designed the 1915 city hall downtown and the new Cuban Club at Palm Avenue and 14th street that was also being completed at the same time. This new Italian Club included a combination of Italian, Spanish and Greek architecture. This was the second Italian Clubhouse because the first Italian Club building that had been built in 1911 was destroyed by fire in May of 1914.
