Dutton Law Group is proud to announce that Christopher S. Dutton has been selected by Super Lawyers to the Rising Stars category for 2023, the fourth year in a row he has achieved this level of recognition for his practice in insurance coverage.

Being selected to Rising Stars is limited to a small number of attorneys in each state. As one of the few attorneys to achieve this distinction of Rising Stars, Chris demonstrates that he has earned the respect of his peers.

Scott W. Dutton, who is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, is also recognized by Super Lawyers in the areas of civil litigation, insurance coverage, and personal injury defense for the years 2006, 2008 to 2009, and 2014 to 2022.

Super Lawyers is a rating service for lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each year, only 5 percent of attorneys in the state are selected to the Super Lawyers list, and only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state are named to the Rising Stars list.

About Scott W. Dutton

Scott Dutton founded Dutton Law Group in September 2001 and has overseen its growth to 25 attorneys serving clients from seven offices across the state of Florida. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Practice by The Florida Bar, a designation he has maintained since 1992. His primary practice areas include appellate law, bad faith claims, casualty insurance defense, fraud & SIU, personal injury protection (PIP), and products liability.

In addition to his Super Lawyers recognition, Scott is AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also the recipient of the Jerry Zappalo Distinguished Service Award, granted by the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee (“FIFEC”) in 2012.

Scott is a frequent speaker on topics relating to first party property and PIP litigation, most recently at the 2023 FIFEC Annual Meeting held in Orlando in July 2023. He earned his J.D. from Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law, in 1984. He is admitted in all state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

About Christopher Dutton

Christopher “Chris” Dutton joined Dutton Law Group in 2014 in the firm’s Tampa office, and now splits his time between the Tampa and Pensacola offices. He represents insurance companies throughout Florida in the areas of first party property, personal injury protection (PIP), and fraud/SIU. Chris is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2014 with a concentration in Health Law. He was a recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award. He holds an undergraduate degree from Auburn University (2009). Chris has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars List in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Chris is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA), Windstorm Insurance Network, Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the Escambia-Santa Rosa County Bar Association.
