Shekka Drayton Appointed To The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division Board Of Governors
Dutton Law Group is pleased to congratulate attorney Shekka C. Drayton on her appointment as a member of The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. The induction ceremony took place on June 21, 2024 at the annual convention of The Florida Bar in Orlando. She will represent the Young Lawyers of the First Judicial Circuit.
The Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar has over 26,000 members. All lawyers under age 36 and new Florida Bar members for the first 5 years in good standing are automatically members. The First Judicial Circuit of Florida serves the four counties of Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton.
The purpose of the Young Lawyers Division is to stimulate and encourage the interest and participation of division members in the purposes of The Florida Bar. The YLD provides a full and complete program of activities and projects designed to be of interest and assistance to members, and to engage in such activities as shall tend to further the best interests of the legal profession.

Shekka Drayton focuses her practice on the defense of personal injury protection (PIP) claims. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as in-house counsel for four years at a leading national auto insurer. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant State Attorney for the State of Florida in the First Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Drayton has called Pensacola home since 2017. She is active in several community-based initiatives. She is the Immediate Past President of The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Escambia Santa Rosa Bar Association (ESRBA), and remains on the Board of Directors. Ms. Drayton is a member of the C. Roger Vinson American Inn of Court. In 2019, Ms. Drayton became a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NW Florida. She also serves as editor and contributor of The Summation, the official publication of ESRBA.
She attended The Florida State University, where she triple majored in Political Science, International Affairs, and Psychology. She received her Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Ms. Drayton was President of the Student Bar Association as well as an inaugural member of the Penn State Law Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2017.
Although she keeps a busy schedule, Ms. Drayton is never too busy for her Chow Chow puppy, Mochi, and her favorite pastime, brunch. She is a native of Miami, Florida.
