Dutton Law Group was proud to serve as the cover sponsor for the 2024 Florida Liability Claims Conference. The FLCC is a widely attended annual event of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and was held in Orlando, Florida on June 5-7, 2024.
Christopher Dutton and Scott Dutton presented on the topic, “Sanctions! 57.105, Proposals for Settlement, Kozel, and Danis. In Florida, insurance carriers and the trial bar has lived in a world of one-way attorney’s fees under Florida Statute § 627.428. This presentation questioned if that is really the case, with a discussion of the tools available to defense lawyers to obtain an award of attorney’s fees and costs on behalf of insurance companies.
