Dutton Law Group Welcomes Seven Summer Law Clerks
Dutton Law Group, a Florida insurance defense firm, is excited to welcome seven talented law clerks as participants in our 2024 Summer Law Clerk Program. These law students will gain practical experience in litigation matters involving Personal Injury Protection (PIP) auto claims, first and third party property disputes, and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
Working under the careful supervision of experienced attorneys, the law clerks will receive practical guidance in researching case law, drafting legal documents, assisting in discovery, attending depositions, and compiling court filings. Dutton Law Group is pleased to be able to train the next generation of Florida lawyers.
A brief introduction to each law clerk is provided below.
Maria Assimakopoulos
Tampa Office
Maria is a law student at Stetson University College of Law. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science & Policy and a Certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Florida State University (2022). She has a strong interest in protecting the Florida manatees.
Brianna Barba
Miami Office
Brianna is a law student at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. She earned a B.S. in Criminology from the Florida State University in 2022. Brianna maintains an interest in providing law enforcement and crime prevention services in the community and worked as a volunteer with the Tallahassee Police Department.
Margarita Cury
Tampa Office
Margarita is a law student at Stetson University College of Law. She earned a B.A. in Criminology with minors in Forensic Health and International Studies from the University of South Florida in 2020. In the summer of 2022, she worked as a legal intern for The Honorable Michael Baggé-Hernandez of the 13th Judicial Circuit. She also worked as a litigation legal assistant for a first party property firm.
Naiara da Rocha
Fort Lauderdale Office
Naiara is a law student at the University of Florida – Fredric G. Levin College of Law. She holds a BBA, summa cum laude, from Florida International University, with a double major in International Business and Marketing (2020). She is the past founder and president of Housecall Doctors Of Florida, Inc., a firm that monitored insurance reimbursement claims.
Elizabeth Duprey
Orlando Office
Elizabeth is a student at Florida State University College of Law, where she serves as the 2024-2025 Vice President for the Association for Criminal Justice. The ACJ aims to provide students with a practical insight into criminal law matters from judicial, prosecutorial, and defense perspectives. She holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Crime, Law, and Deviance from the University of Central Florida.
Michelle Holder
Miami Office
Michelle is a law student at the University of Miami School of Law. She holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Florida (2022). She worked as a substitute teacher at the high school and elementary school levels. She also served as the director of marketing and social media for a magazine publisher.
Jacob Ponzoli
Tampa Office
Jacob Ponzoli is a law student at Stetson University College of Law, where he is an associate member of the Business Law Review. Jacob holds a B.S., cum laude, in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida (2022). While in school he worked part time as an Americorps Member with the City of Tampa. He also gained public service experience while working at Publix.
