Christopher “Chris” Dutton joined the Dutton Law Group in 2014 in the firm’s Tampa office. Currently, Mr. Dutton splits his time between the firm’s Tampa and Pensacola offices representing insurance companies throughout the state of Florida primarily in the areas of first party property, personal injury protection, and fraud/SIU. Mr. Dutton is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center where he obtained his Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Health Law. He was a recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in 2009. Mr. Dutton has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars List from 2020 – 2024.

Mr. Dutton has been a Florida Bar Member since 2015. He is admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Mr. Dutton is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the largest international membership organization for defense attorneys and in-house counsel. He was a member of the publications sub-committee for the DRI Young Lawyers Division and previously served as chair of the committee. Mr. Dutton is also a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA), Windstorm Insurance Network, Hillsborough County Bar Association, and Escambia-Santa Rosa County Bar Association.

While in law school, Mr. Dutton was on the editorial staff of the Journal of International and Comparative Law (ILSA). He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Michael Orlando of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was a research assistant to law professor, Richard Grosso, in Environmental Law and Land Use and Judge Frank Orlando (Ret.) in Juvenile Delinquency. He was selected to participate in supervised research by law professor, Olympia Duhart, researching Constitutional Law issues.

Mr. Dutton is a member of the Board of Directors at the History of Diving Museum in Islamorada, Florida. He has served as chair since 2017. Mr. Dutton is an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Dutton was born in Tampa, Florida and is married to Mallory Shepard Dutton. Together, they have two daughters, Daphne and Cameron.
